The colors are excellent in the painting. The yellows are the primary focus and are supported by intense but contained coloration elsewhere. There is a great sense of speed in this piece. The rider and bike seem to enter the painting with a certain amount of blur which is achieved by proper use of heavy texture and paint colors that blend together smoothly.

There is a calm feeling you get with this painting but upon second look, you see nothing but speed. Lee really loves this piece as he does with all the medium sized impressionistic road race works in this collection. Lee, “It is the radical and intense color I love so much”.

From a distance, this painting has realism qualities which is the goal with all impressionism paintings. Stretched canvas over wood.
