LITTLE WORLD A Painting

This painting is inspired by nature, especially flowers, clouds and water. It contains cyanotype and collage along with painting on a round wood panel. Terri Dilling's art makes reference to the landscape around her but also an emotional landscape within. The duality of interior/exterior realms gives the work a depth of meaning. She uses gestural marks and color relationships to express a mood or feeling that comes from her experience. Her desire is to create a calming visual space that also has energy and contrast. Terri is influenced by both Abstract Expressionism and Impressionism. Terri Dilling's paintings are predominantly acrylic paint with additional drawing materials like charcoal, paint marker, and pigment crayon. As she paints intuitively, some elements get covered over while others are pulled forward, and the finished work contains a rich, layered history. This is an original work of art on a round panel that is .75" deep. The painting is sealed with a satin varnish to protect the surface. The sides are whitewashed and it is signed with artist's abbreviation on front and full signature on back. It is ready to hang. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Terri Dilling is a contemporary abstract artist based in Atlanta, Georgia, and she has been exhibiting professionally for over twenty years. Terri received a BA from Indiana University, a BFA Georgia State University, and has also studied visual arts in England, Spain, and Italy. She has received numerous grants and awards, and her work is in public and private collections around the world.
