ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My work is a visual experience that provokes a deceleration in the perception of the viewer. I'm creating an image that appears in flowing motion caused by the superposition of wave-shaped light-reflecting color streams that initiate an complex space of illusion and depth. Art allows us to explore spaces of possibility beyond our encounter with reality. I'm influenced by artists like Anish Kapoor, Juan Usle or Katharina Grosse. The paintings are made on acrylglas/ pmma.

The painter Christoph Schrein has developed his own distinctive abstract imagery throughout his artistic work. His monochrome paintings appear to be in flowing motion. The effect is caused by the superposition of wave-shaped, light-reflecting color streams that create a complex illusion of space and depth. The images should invite to stay and discover, induce a moment of contemplation and slowing down.
