Landscapes Of The Invisible - LOTI is part of a corpus of artworks which pays homage to the oriental painting and elaborates the idea of landscape as a metaphor for the representation both of the human interiority and of the invisible. We can speak of a kind of "passage", from the intimate and spiritual vision of the human being to the reality and vice versa. The title also alludes to the LOTUS flower, the sacred LOTUS is a symbol in Asian art and religion. As in other cycles of my artworks, we can notice an intimate gaze that is just an element of everyday transcendence. In the form of a metaphysical conjunction, marshes, ponds and mountains change in scale with liquid and shadowy forms typical of the molecular, organic and microscopic world realising a passage from material to immaterial world. This is because in the invisibility of the landscape the first element that falls is the human measure that doesn't regulate everything anthropocentrically anymore. Landscapes of the Invisible does not concern habitable places but a rich range of spaces living in us, reminding of an ancestral topography. In other words invisibility is an access key that reveals more than it takes away unless the denuding of the figurative is centered on a metaphysical contact with nature, therefore through an inner vision.

I am a visual artist currently living and working between Palermo, Italy, and San Sebastian, Spain. My research delves into ecological and social issues, often involving audience participation. My practice reflects on the tangible and intangible heritage of the regions where I operate. I have undertaken numerous art projects that focus on intercultural dialogue and the right to international mobility, which have been showcased by various museums and international foundations. The community projects I participate in inspire a deep exploration through drawing and painting, resulting in a large body of work that often incorporates memories and traces of these participatory experiences. Among my recent projects and exhibitions are: -Lur Sarek - Reti di terra (2022), Chiesa di Santa Eulalia, Instituto Cervantes, Palermo, BAM Biennial. -PaNingenesi (2021), a land art performance curated by Lori Adragna, Parco Archeologico di Selinunte, in collaboration with Riso - Museo Regionale d'Arte Contemporanea di Palermo and Monira Foundation, Jersey City, USA. -PAN-GEA (2020), an augmented reality artwork for Arkad, Les Parallèles du Sud, Manifesta 13 Biennial, Marseille, France. -I'm Blooming, a performance and installation for the group show ONE VOICE | CHANGE IS IN UNITY, Fondazione Sant’Elia, Palermo, in collaboration with Fondazione Fugaz Arte De Convivir - Peru and Mana Contemporary - USA. -The Bread House (2016-2019), an itinerant art project hosted by the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation of Turin, RISO Contemporary Art Museum of Sicily, Civic Museum of Salemi, Iméra-Université Aix-Marseille Foundation, and Centre Tignous, Montreuil, Paris. During residencies in immigrant reception centers, I invited local community representatives to partake in workshops, fostering dialogue through the experience of baking. -We are here / Nous Sommes Ici (2016-2017), Mucem, Marseille, in collaboration with RISO Contemporary Art Museum of Sicily. -Il Traffico, part of the 5x5x5 Program of Manifesta 12 (2018), a project curated by the Finnish artists group Collective Intelligence, in collaboration with Myymälä2 contemporary art gallery and Dimora Oz, Palermo. Piazza Connection (2018), an artistic research project by international groups of artists, resulting in a book and a video installation displayed in Kaoz, a Manifesta 12 collateral event.
