ABOUT THE ARTWORK
When travelling in Australia I helped on a fundraising project to help the black rhino. The purpose being to help prevent them ending up like the white rhino pictured here. This animal is an icon to my generation. The last of its kind. Huge and strong and noble but all alone now. Truly the last man standing. I have painted this animal with acrylics and putting exaggeration onto their beautiful skin trying to develop texture and depth. The piece is simple and done on canvas board. Would look nice in a nursery or just on the wall of the home of an animal lover.
