ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is one of a series of paintings I did 20 years or so ago that was a result of becoming aware of global warming and climate change. Sadly, 20 years in the future these paintings seem more relevant than ever. The title implies that by following the depicted highway all life on earth will disappear.

I've never imagined being anything but an artist, although there was a time after graduating college that i had to wait for my ideas to come of age. Although I'm a native of the East Coast, after working in Santa Barbara since 1976 and the California light, colors, and aesthetic has been the strongest influence on my work. I categorize my paintings as Contemporary California Realism.
