The title "Le petit chien au museau noir" means in English "The little dog with a black muzzle". The dog appeared not intentionally. I realized it after the painting was done. This is the magic of abstract.

Hi! I'm Anik Lapointe, a self-taught painter fueled by creativity! Living in the Eastern Townships (Quebec, Canada), I began my artistic journey in 2007, initially through ambient photography and especially exploring abandoned places (urbex and rurex). Having long been drawn to painting, it was in 2019 that I took the plunge and created my very first canvas. Then, I discovered a new passion for abstract art. Blending various media such as acrylics, collage, markers, oil sticks, and more, my art is characterized by soft and luminous abstract works. I let myself be guided initially by colors and what they evoke in me at the moment of creation, followed by spontaneous movement. In addition to using brushes, I apply paint with various objects at hand to create different shapes and textures. I appreciate the transparencies that reveal multiple layers and often incorporate pencil lines as a final touch. I explore different styles, always within abstraction because life is too short to limit oneself to just one style. I want to have fun!
