"Les feuilles mortes" Painting

Suzie Kheir is a Syrian-American artist, who was born and raised in Damascus, Syria. As a child she spent countless hours sketching and drawing the roses she collected around her city; the same roses mentioned in William Shakespeare’s poetry. She enrolled in the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Damascus, where she specialized in advertising. Later on she moved to the US, and lived near Washington DC where she exhibited some of her work at the Potomac Art Gallery. 1993 she moved to Paris where she found her love for oil painting and impressionist. Suzie’s travels to the US, and France have influenced her work she has found inspiration through artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, and impressionist painters such as Claude Monet, Cezanne, Van Gogh, and the symbolist peintre Odilon Redon to name a few. Her paintings mostly depict nature, landscapes, and sometimes a semi abstract style include vibrant textures, and mediums. She has exhibited her work at notable places such as the Al Rabieh and Al Amir galleries in Damascus, the Syrian & Egyptian Cultural Centers in Paris, and at OECD La Défense, Les Talent de Bailly, and la Maison de L'étang in Louvecienne to name a few. She has also appeared on Radio Orient, and Radio Al Shams in Paris.
