About The Artwork

Being an artist during the Corona crisis is hard. The lockdown is being eased now, but of course the virus is still around. Our life has changed dramatically and we have to adjust to this new reality. Can we do that? Or do we rather prentend that nothing has changed and we will be "back to normal" soon? I was inspired to this painting by watching people during the crisis, listening to them and realizing that many of them think everything will be ok again. It's good to be hopeful - but I believe our reality will never be the same as before the crisis. So, do we pretend not to see it, do we pretend to be happy? Or are we capable of adjusting to something new and find happiness there? The colour green stands for hope in this painting, the colour red for happiness. The wild strokes and the thickly applied paint stands for the diverse, chaotic reality we find ourselves in during the crisis. The artwork is signed and dated on the back.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a Czech-born and now Germany based painter. In my works I explore the essence of what surrounds me: why do people act the way they do? What lies beneath the surface of what meets the eye? What are we driven by? To express what I sense beneath the surface I feel drawn to different materials and a range of colours, which I apply in different layers on my canvases and papers, using a variety of techniques including scratching, brushing and printing. This way expressive works are created, some reduced to basic expressions, others rich in colour and texture.
