ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Lifted” was created with molding paste and acrylics. I layered the canvas with a lot of texture first then used sienna conte to draw out my dancer before adding paint. The feeling of letting everything go and allowing yourself to be “lifted” up by something much greater then yourself is what I wanted to convey. She is peaceful and calm despite the whirlwind around her.
