Lilith Rocks, 48x28x2, custom framed, original, acrylic on panel by artist Katherine Baronet. The 2" depth or side of the box frame is of solid wood and is hand waxed. The art work is painted on a board that is 1/4in. smaller than the frame so you see the natural wood frame from the front. The wood frame is hand waxed to keep the natural look of the wood and to protect it from water and finger prints. Acrylic paint that has many layers and well textured. I have been making art for over 25 years and my newest body of work is so fun and playful. In the beginning of 2022 I told myself I was only going to make art that made me happy. So, I began playing with glitter paper, rainbow colors and space travel. Any thing that sparkles or would take me out to the Cosmos, I played with it. And for some reason I do not understand, I am obsessed with this tree shape. So, I decided right then and there (sitting in my studio) my new years resolution was going to be fun and magic! You can read all the boring stuff below if you want. Katherine Baronet was born in Richmond, VA. After a 15 year career as a fashion model, which took her to many countries in Europe and Japan, she returned to college to complete her Bachelor Degree in Communications Arts from East Texas A&M in Commerce, graduating in 1995. She has worked in the healing arts as the Artist-in-Residence at Methodist Richardson Cancer Center for 5 years. Most recently, she has been selected to be in Craighead Green Gallery’s New Texas Talent show, and is working on a new series of large graphite drawings.
