Liminal Painting

Inspired by fairy tales, mythology, and magic, I was inspired to paint a romantic portrait of a mythical, female Earth-creature. Her soft and ethereal face exudes peace and serenity, reminding us that we all are part of the eternal belonging. I chose a color palette of soft grays accented with pearl white to create a feeling of weightlessness and immortality. "Liminal" means to reside at a place along both sides of a boundary: between dark and light, between human and beast, between real and imagined. She is timeless and self-contained in her liminal space. This original painting features a beautifully hand-painted gallery wrapped edge.
