I have been exploring the similarities and contrasts between the tree-filled wilderness within my city and the numerous new buildings. I find metaphors within these spaces, like the tree roots clinging to eroded soil or branches embracing an electric pole. Utilizing color pallets based on transitions in the day and seasons, my work pulls into focus contour shapes between the landmarks that I live amongst. I use shaped canvases like architecture, to enclose those metaphors and commemorate the beauty of an ephemeral life and world.
