This acrylic painting shows a lobster buoy floating in the rippled ocean. Being from Nova Scotia, these are a familiar sight as our lobster are a local delicacy and shipped worldwide. Each fisherperson has their own colour code to indicate which trap belongs to whom. Some of these codes are passed down through the generations. Each season they are repainted as needed to maintain their bright hues. The buoy is attached to a lobster trap, which has been baited and sits on the ocean floor, by a long rope.
