About The Artwork

A series of paintings "VIBRATIONS" Images from this series are based on a kind of sketches made in a specific place, at a specific time (place and time included in the title of the picture). A sketch, or rather a register of experienced vibrations transferred to the canvas, strengthened by the energy of music, which I listen to while working in my studio. However, I do not encourage recipients to read hidden meanings, it's not about "reading" my memories, it's about how you feel when you look at the picture. I deeply believe in spiritual connections between all things in the universe. Each form, shape and colour emanate a vibration of a specific frequency that affects us in a special way. Vibrations affect life, support and develop it, act as a catalyst. When creating a composition of images from this series, I wanted to affect the recipient, just like music, through senses and feelings. I deliberately gave up using symbols characteristic of only one culture. The manner of perception and the strength of these images depends on the sensitivity of the recipient. The realities of our times incline me to define the style of these paintings as "hyper-realistic" rather than abstract. I will, however, remain at the definition of abstract expressionism, because abstract art allows the transmission of deeper, more universal truths than naturalistic painting, which preserves a certain type of culturally defined message. It is worth noting that the images from the VIBRATIONS series harmonize with contemporary interiors, filling them with the energy necessary to communicate with another human being, to understanding themselves, as well as reaching beyond the terrestrial reality.

Eryk Giermak b. 1964 in Poland, lives in Germany and UK. He started his artistic career with fashion design and theater scenography. Eryk Giermak is best known for his charcoal drawings made in the "one stroke" technique, without unnecessary shading and overlapping. A drawing is like a handwriting made up of the characters of the alphabet invented by the artist. It is something that is affordable. Collecting drawings does not require much space, their decorativeness is unpretentious. They can be resold quite easily. Giermak's abstract expressionist paintings are characterized by wide, sweeping brush strokes and layering techniques, a vivid palette of colors - clear colors create both drama and depth on the canvas. The artist, whose works have been at many exhibitions, built an international collector's base over the course of three decades of artistic practice. Influenced by many journeys and the resulting recognition of cultural differences, his abstract works contain threads of imaginary languages and hidden meanings. He often works in relation to poetry, literature and philosophy.
