Long Time Sun Painting

Long Time Sun 12" x 12" acrylic on cardboard Inspired By: Snatam Kaur My Mantra I learned this song when practicing Kundalini yoga. At the closing of each practice it is sung. The closing mantra is a Scottish blessing. "May the long time sun shine upon you, All love surround you, And the pure light within you, Guide your way on." I took a challenge to paint 30 paintings in 30 days! I fell behind only a few times and was ahead of the game a few times, kind of like life. I posted 29 to the site that hosted the challenge and have sold two thirds. You can't go back as an artist, evolution is paramount, however you can embrace your past and make your work more authentic. I embraced my past for this series, using a music playlist for inspiration. Please enjoy my musically inspired diverse oeuvre! I painted this in my home studio tonight and realized I was out of 12" x 12" canvas, so I used the cardboard box that they come in. The sun is golden with golden rays of all sizes and shapes, the is oval shape represents love surrounding. There is a small faint paper airplane in the upper left to represent my project where I used this song. I continue to use the paper airplane image in paintings as a metaphor for an energetic stream of positive change [new perspective].
