Painting, Ground on Canvas
Size: 47.2 W x 33.5 H x 0 D in
Ships in a Box
Several simple irregular forms made of primary media, such as ground, sand, and clay, float in a black space. This is the beginning of formation and structure of some general large scale entity different from individual existence. The forms are connected with naturalistically painted ropes and this connection helps them rush up in a united longing to explore the undiscovered and the unknown. The image expresses the metaphor of collective efforts towards knowledge.

Victor Cuzmenco develops his art concept of Ontologic Painting inspired by fundamental questions of ontology. His ideas are embedded in simple geometrical shapes painted with sand, earth, clay, and shell limestone. Victor uses oil paints primarily due to their viscosity, fluidity and texture and applies primary colors in vivid and contrast spots. Non-objective and non-figurative compositions suggest zero plot or narrative free from material perception. A mesmerizing chaos trying to structure gives room for multi-scale perception of images whether these are cosmic formations or smallest physical particles. Ontologic paintings address the topic of spiritual excitement.
