About The Artwork

My experience and training in clinical psychoanalysis has left a strong imprint on my artistic and social vision. The construction of my work is driven by the questioning that arises in me before the subject and consequently the need to investigate their fragmentation, their body and the connection with the world they inhabit. Without this clinical experience and this encounter with the suffering, the language, the history and the way in which all this crosses over in the subjects, it would not have been possible for me the artistic trimming that is in my work. The images of nature, its spirit and its forms, as well as the erotic charge they have, are the trigger for the organic constructions that live within my work. I investigate intuitively using non-conventional materials. I build bodies. Appealing to the fragility of the material that I use such as paper, pantyhose or glass, I focus on that primary, human fragility. I make it possible for their marks, scars, fibers and connections to be revealed. I “illuminate what is hidden to us”, reveal as a narrative of the body, I draw, materialize and break it, “metaphorising” the fragmentations of the body and the subject. Adriana Carambia

She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is a psychoanalyst graduated from Universidad de Buenos Aires. Argentina My training and experience in clinical psychoanalysis has left a strong impression on my vision of art and of the world. My work is driven by the necessity to investigate the fragmentation of the human being, the body and its relationship with the world in which it inhabits. I start a work of art in an intuitive way using unconventional materials (nylon stockings, windshields from discarded cars, paraffin wax, etc), on the rigorous base that is derived from a close relationship between culture and nature, centering my look on the subject. The work methodology that I propose is fundamentally sustained by sculpture, installation and painting. The images of nature, its spirit, and its forms, as well as the erotic charges that they possess, are the triggers of the organic constructions that inhabit my work. The different media give me the possibility of representing the fragmentation (as an intrinsic and structural condition of the subject); the fragility, marks, identification and history. I represent the engimatic the body and its environment in a metaphoric way.
