ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Large scale square. Representational and abstract elements occupy the same stage in an effort to confound the space and keep interpretation open. Multi-colored gridwork seems to map the shape of a continent in a sea or patchwork field of daiquiri green. A female figure in a dress gestures; her head effaced. An ambiguous pink biomorphic form suggests a cartoon creature. Alternative photos show the piece installed in my 2015 Queens College Art Center exhibit "The Provisional vs. The Dubious" and my "Life and Where We Left it" exhibit at Stumptown in Brooklyn 2021
