ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Painting is so natural to me as an artist, and I think I find inspiration everywhere. I think creative process gets my imagination working. This particular piece started emerging in the middle of the night, when I woke up and everything was dark and gloomy, and I had a feeling that there must me some striking light that brings hope to our life. This is why I used this intenese orange colour, which always gives me a lot of energy and positive thinking. I hope to lift people up by my art. I am fascinated by the universe, including skyscape. I love freedom and risk that art gives me. When I start something I have no idea how to finish it. I just keep working untill I get to the bottom of it.

She is a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland. ARTIST STATEMENT My art can be described as abstract landscape or simply colour-scape or inner landscape, and derives from my childhood memories - involving music, visual arts exploration and fascination by natural world. I have been committed to painting abstraction since I obtained my MA in Fine Arts. But before that, I have always loved and leaned towards abstraction since I can remember. I create works that are about colour and shape, I explore surface in search of space and dialog between shapes, colours, gestures. I have an open and dynamic practice, which doesn't have a formula, it's all about experimenting and looking for interesting solutions. Once painting begins the original idea evolves in unexpected way. When I start painting I step into the "unknown" to discover something new, something that I cannot plan beforehand.
