About The Artwork

As a biochemist by training and having spent some time working in environmental and social responsibility areas, I have seen first hand what is happening to our environment. And I am appalled that there are still people that don't believe our climate is changing and we are effectively playing a big part in that with our ever-increasing demands for energy and ever-expanding cities. Moreover, research from University of Warwick has found that people reporting scenic views (outside the city) are happier and healthier. So why do we cut down trees and expand the cities? Why do we do the things we hope will make us happier? In this painting I try to explore climate change as an issue of our modern society. I want viewers to feel worried when they look at this painting. I want them to wonder why the trunk is yellow and the background is yellow? I want them to feel a moment of danger and a second of hope.

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My passion for art started at an early age, while experiencing the changes in colors and style with the fall of the Soviet Union. I began painting and drawing more intensely around 2005 when I moved to the US for university. Although I studied biochemistry and economics, I spent my summers at the university’s arts centre. When I quit my corporate job in London, I rediscovered immense pleasure and relaxation in painting, an activity that soon developed into a passionate calling. I continue to learn and experiment with acrylics, paste and charcoal. Being a fan of hot and sunny weather, which is rare in London, I use mostly bright colors to transform a blank canvas into abstract images inspired by everyday experiences.
