About The Artwork
LOST is based on my experiences during my journey across India’s beautiful landscape, knowing its culture, people and most importantly its ancient legacy. Remains of the civilization, the present archeological sites and relics are reminiscent of the rich cultural heritage of that age. Walking through these sites provides a glimpse of the life, people, society, cultural beliefs & their intellectual might. Elaborate carvings capturing every detail in the rock sculptures in these archeological sites is a statement of the artistic excellence that existed during that period. Every panel is a story Keen observation of these sculptures invokes a plethora of emotions and leaves oneself spellbound imagining the life in that era. In the present work, I have tried to create an amalgam of the fragments of the testaments of that age with their respective contemporary analogous. The present work is inspired from the feats achieved by the Vijayanagara Empire. One of the remnants of the accomplishments of the empire is the Vittala temple complex of Hampi. The Vittala temple complex is a rare but Harmonious confluence of the Art, Science and the Religion with an exceptional architecture and unmatched craftsmanship. The Stone Chariot sitting in front of the Vittala Temple is the Iconic to Hampi and represents the synergy in scientific might, artistic perfection and religious beliefs of the Empire, somewhat lost in the utilitarian outlook of the contemporary world.

Beauty of the nature is its highly intricate yet exceptionally simple managing every arbitrariness systematically. Inspired by this disposition of nature to create comprehensive complex yet beautiful forms existing in coherence without any disarray with their surroundings, my aim has always been to elucidate more and create unconventional compositions that are complex yet simple, with each element existing in the perfect harmony with its background. I create amalgamation of Individualistic forms interpreting a subject in a different perspective. My subjects depict the visual elements in concatenation that are inspired by the conscious but perceived by subconscious depicting a plethora of emotions that are individualistic yet harmonize to depict a larger story. For me, Painting is a therapy for mind and soul evolving from a state of emotional being and subsequent is the expression of my imagination materializing impressionistic into the objective. Each of my work is a culmination of Train of thought and often takes months to materialize while maintaining the aesthetic harmony of the individual elements. On the contrary sometimes just to escape the fear of losing myself in the complexity of the subjects, I simultaneously paint simpler subjects imagined in a different light.
