About The Artwork
An image of an abused woman in a magazine prompted me to think of creating a scene that depicts a woman carrying her clothes leaving an upsetting scene behind her. She feels lost and is trying to find her way home. Abuse of women in society needs to be prominently recognized and dealt with. My desire is that attention will be paid to this distressing situation and a solution be found.

Originally from New Jersey, I studied at The Art Students League in New York, then the Ridgewood Art Center in New Jersey where I studied with Arthur Maynard, a prior student of Francis Vincent DeMond. I moved to Southern California in 1989. I've taken workshops with David Leffel, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Wolf Kahn, Marybeth Mackenzie, and many other notable artists. I worked as a financial advisor for 30 years, then retired in July of 2019 so I could devote my time to art.
