Love is a Miracle Painting

My Art is a bridge from the past to the present. It is a deep dive in researching Art, imagery, symbolism, and culture from Ancient Iran to the present. I came across birds and the metaphor of flying in so many areas in my research. After immigrating from Iran to the United state, my history and traditional Iranian Art research became deeper. There are multiple metaphorical senses and external intentions in bird and flying via Art and philosophy. In painting, the most recognized uses of birds are in Golo Morgh Style (flower and Birds) in traditional Persian Painting. In classic Persian poetry, conference of the birds, celebrated literary masterpiece of Persian literature by poet Farid ud-Din Attar, commonly known as Attar of Nishapur.In the poem, the birds of the world gather to decide who is to be their sovereign, as they have none. The wisest of them all, the hoopoe, suggests that they should find the legendary Simorgh. Each bird represents a particular type of person with certain virtues or vices. For example, the birds are greedy, lazy, fearful, arrogant, and so on. Attar's poem is a mirror to see parts of ourselves and others. And Flying is a metaphor for walking on a spiritual path. Iran revolution in 1979 was the first wave of imagination. In contemporary literature, Birds symbolize immigrants, and Flying is a metaphor for Immigration, and metaphor of the bird shifted into Immigration Parandeye Mohajer (immigrant bird) by poet Iraj Janati Ataee is great. I studied Persian Tradition motifs in my bachelor of Art in Tabriz, Iran. The motifs I'm using in this work are based on my teachings and research in Iranian painting and miniatures. This body of work reflects my life as an immigrant in the United States and my research of ancient Iran and traditional Iranian Art. the medium and colors also reflect my art journey. Spray paint reflects my background in Street art, a bridge from the street to the gallery. A bridge from past to present.
