The humanitarian issue of Africans migrating in difficult conditions is what the artist is highlighting here. It is an impressionist painting. People(migrants) are known to be overloaded in trucks (for transportation of GOODS ONLY) and boats across dangerous routes. The humans and goods are stacked together like sardines in cans. The colors are intense and warm which seems to be the hallmark of the artist. There is a feeling of melancholy, desperacy and unsafe. The representation evokes emotional memories in humanity. The writings on the painting are like warnings reminding the onlooker. A composition of poetry with colors and shapes brought for awareness. The colors in the painting are sometimes based on emotional response trying to capture the essence. The vision motivating the painting is clearly to alert the beholder not to try or support such trips.
