View In My Room
Marilyn Monroe is well known as an extremely popular actress and sex bomb. But her late interviews and photos gave me the impression that she was deeply disappointed. For me she is the symbol of dividing and a thin line between how people want to see you and who you really are. This kind of hesitation is the emotion which I wanted to catch in the painting. The watercolor paints were my favorite medium to paint such an emotional portrait. Wooden watercolour board gave me an unusually quality and lot of fun during shadowing Marilyn Monroe's face which is quite different as as we remember from her movies. Maybe her different colors will give us possibility to look at her from another, less obvious point of view.
