ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The children trusted the jolly fat man would cut them some slack, and sure enough on Christmas morning, they woke to a bounty of presents. Their father was flabbergasted when he realized St. Nick really does exist. You just have to believe. I have wonderful childhood memories of Christmas mornings, and I wanted to create a portrait of Santa to capture the image of him I've had in my mind for all these years. I used a bright blue background to really make him pop, and the white fur and beard are textured to give dimension. I wanted to give the painting a pop art vibe, so I kept it simple and graphic. This piece's edge is painted dark purple. Hanging hardware is installed.
