ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is done in oil on canvas. The inspiration comes from the study of women in society and the observation that some seem to be more self-confident than others. It is a wonderful feeling to see some one who is not broken down by societal pressures, especially in the developing world. The viewer is expected to notice this in the young woman's confident pose, she will not bow. The gray color is to pull the viewers attention to the more important issue of the woman's concrete psyche.

I was born in Germany in the February of 1973. My Dad was just a young doctor and my mother studied languages in Berlin. I was a creative child. Tinkering with all sorts of things. I loved taking toys apart and i loved drawing. It was from drawing that i got into colors and brushes, making comics and the like. I got really good at drawing and many times i would draw the teacher in class and let others pass the picture around, just to disrupt everything. I got into trouble a lot. At some point i started to experiment with oils, pastels, acrylics and others.
