Mai 2020 Painting

I was born in 1971, in Pula, Croatia. My whole creative endeavor can be brought under the common denominator the “Affirmation of the affirmative”. Although a bit paradoxical, it is about the affirmation of qualities and values that offer hope and belief and make essence and performance meaningful and purposeful. There are three modes of my expression which are mutually entwined and integrated: artistic creative endeavor, philosophy and poetry. My understanding of the world and life are based on love towards nature, nature as a primordial wisdom, panacea and an Arcadian refuge, which explains the name Philofis, the one who creates philosophizing and philosophize creating, through the love of nature. The name of one of my scultpures, as the key to understanding my personality: INITIATION- A CONVERSATION DURING AN EVENING PROMENADE… STUDENT: MASTER, YOU HAVE ALWAYS TAUGHT ME THAT I SHALL BURST INTO A FLOWER AND BEAR MY OWN FRUITS. I AM ASKING YOU WHAT IF THE FLOWER I BURST INTO IS PLAIN AND FRAGRANCE- FREE AND WHAT IF NO ONE SHALL DESIRE MY BASKET WITH FRUITS? MASTER: IN NATURE, LIKE IN PRIMORDIAL SPIRITUALITY, THERE ARE NO PARAMETERS. THE DIFFERENCE IS MADE JUST IN THE HUMAN EYE, JUDGMENT IN THE HUMAN MIND. ONLY IN THE HUMAN HEART ABIDES THE DESIRE FOR BECOMING SOMETHING OR SOMEONE ELSE. NEITHER DOES A ROSE YEARN FOR BECOMING A YELLOW DAFFODIL OR DOES A DAFFODIL LONG FOR BECOMING A RED ROSE. A TREE, A SMALL CLOUD OR A BLADE OF GRASS HAVE CHOSEN TO BE THEMSELVES. THE HUMAN BEING IS THE MOST UNRESTRAINED BEING AND, YET AT THE SAME TIME OFTEN THE SADDEST. THE FULFILLMENT AND HAPPINESS WILL BE OBTAINED BY THOSE WHO HAVE DECIDED TO BE THEMSELVES. THUS, STOP LOOKING AROUND IN SEARCH OF A FLOWER OF A DIFFERENT ROOT FROM YOURS. RATHER, BE WHO YOU ARE, THE WAY YOU ARE, LOVE THE PERSON YOU ARE AND THE PERSON YOU CAN BECOME AND BELIEVE ME, YOUR EXISTANCE WILL RESULT IN THE SMILE ON THE EARTH'S CHEEKS.
