Using the medium of acrylic paint, Marcus creates engaging pieces that centre on a narrative - but are not dictated by it. So if the narrative of the piece is not always clear, the work will hold up on its own as something of interest and beauty. His training and background in graphic design is evident through his art, with the attention to line and form in a reductionist almost minimal style which leans towards photo-realism in some areas. The reduction of shade in his style also gives a sense of purity to his art, without losing any depth and perspective. This is also achieved through his use of colour which plays sympathetically with the simplicity of his work. Employing a life size scale to his paintings also creates a more immersive experience for the viewer.
