Everybody wants the dream, the dream of becoming something better, bigger and valuable. Makoko is a slum, just imagine what goes on in the minds of people living there and imagine someone there with a dream to live better. So I thought about it and it blew my mind with this art idea of “the DREAM - Makoko to New York”. This painting serves as a reminder that anything is possible, if we dream bigger than where we are. I love the acrylic medium but adding modeling paste to it, is simply magical. Using abstract to express this work allows for flexibility and color expressions that gives the work beauty and aesthetic value on any wall it’s placed.
