"Manhã" Painting

I have worked in art, design and media throughout my career, working in both London and New York. I've been fortunate to work on projects in many parts of the world for some fantastic clients. When I'm not working on corporate projects, I love to paint. I am learning all the time, and want to become a better painter and learn new techniques. I worked for over a decade on a colour trends project in partnership with a very large global paints company, supporting the delivery of a trends forecasting brand. Working alongside such an inspiring team to help deliver colour trends to consumers around the world, was a great experience which helped me appreciate the role of colour even more. I paint predominantly in acrylics with some mixed media. I have a particular focus on colour perception and the emotion that colour conveys. I aim to create a sense of calm, balance, colour harmony and the appearance of depth. I mainly paint on large canvases around 0.5m to 1m square and upwards. I'm in awe of many artists, but I'm particularly inspired by the French artist Yves Klein who fell so in love with blue; he registered International Klein Blue as a trademark colour.
