Contact us.Omar M. Pagán Díaz, an accomplished artist and painter, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1977 and raised in Orocovis. He earned an MFA in painting from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, San Germán Campus, after completing a bachelor's degree with a concentration in painting at the Puerto Rico School of Fine Arts and Design. His artistic formation was shaped by esteemed mentors, including Jaime Carrero, Fernando Santiago, José Alicea, Julio Suarez, Zilia Sánchez, Rafael Rivera Rosa, Elizam Escobar, and Luis Felipe López.
Throughout his career, Pagán Díaz has collaborated on notable projects, such as the stained-glass window of the Caguas Fine Arts Center with artist Luis Hernández Cruz. He also completed a sculpture internship with Silvia Benítez. His work has been recognized at the National Exhibition of Plastic Arts, where he participated in both 2003 and 2015.
Currently, he serves as a professor of painting and drawing at the School of Plastic Arts and Design of Puerto Rico. Previously, he taught at the Interamerican University San Germán Campus and the University of the Sacred Heart of Puerto Rico, contributing to their bachelor's programs. His dedication to art and education continues to influence the next generation of Puerto Rican artists.
