Inspired by a 1976 sculpture of a Yucatecan woman, created by Costa Rican born, Mexican artist Francisco Zuniga. The bronze piece, donated on 1993 by Elsa Dekking and Dr. Keith A. Brueckner, Professor of Physics, it is currently located on a corner garden across Sequoia Hall in the beautiful UCSD campus. The face of the sculpture is currently wearing a cloth facemask someone placed there. I created a painting of a Mayan woman today kneeling on the jungle as protected by the shade of a native tree during the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic. Original painting is an acrylic on canvas, 30 x 40," sides painted as well, and ready to hang. Signature on the bottom right corner.

Since 2010, he has participated in over thirty solo and collective exhibitions in the US and internationally. PERSONAL STATEMENT My pursuit is to leave a mark in the art world with innovative paintings, shedding light on a changing reality and the complex relationship of humans with nature, science and art. The creative process emerged by my own transformation triggered by a temporary loss of vision ten years ago. A sudden shift in my perception of reality, together with an accumulated experience of years of research in the lab and working with computers, detonated an artistic practice and a method to communicate my cosmovision. My artwork evolved from a purely physical form of painting, to working with digital art, animation, and now post-digital painting. This is an art form conceptually shaped by the internet and digital processes, but insisting on bringing materiality to it. Thoughts and ideas flow from a time scale that includes my ancestors, current events, ideas found in nature, historical documents, world travel and scientific publications. The "Alternative Reality" and "Discoveries" are two series, featured at Saatchi Art, depicting a world where art and science coalesce in multiple layers of digitally embedded physical paint and other media.
