My images often come from something I saw while driving around here in the southwest. This image also came to me in a dream. After a few days I knew exactly what I wanted to pain, in my style. I have my favorite colors and I use them over and over to create joyful, or serene but relaxing images. It has just rained and there were little streams forming in the usual fields and in the desert landscape. There is a very large field not to far from where I live and the sun was bouncing off the ground making it look like a poppy field. Of course there were no poppies just low grown brush and wet dirt. Horses used to graze there. Soon there will be apartments or condos there. But that image of a poppy field just directed my creative juices as what I was going to paint. I love this painting. I can't take my eyes off of it. It is so calming, relaxing, and I was so pleased on how it turned out. Lots of layering here. The colors are cheerful and can only make you smile. The image is extended around the sides so you can hang it without framing it. Wire on the back. All my originals sold come with a Certificate of Authenticity and my Artist Bio.

Carol has been a professional artist for over fifty years, mastering calligraphy, watercolors and now acrylics. She studied at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, and took many private classes but considers herself to be a self taught artist. Using lots of detail, layering bright and bold colors and sometimes a touch of humor, has won her many awards. She continues to win awards today. She has been published and has a painting in the Postal Museum of the Smithsonian. She will be a featured artist with the Mayo Galleries in Arizona later this year. Carol likes to draw the viewer into her paintings using her particular style. She loves nature and enjoys painting flowers, land/seascapes and some abstracts. She applies a lot of layering in her paintings no matter the subject matter. Always wanting to improve her skills, she taught herself how to use the palette knife. Her latest series of Moon In Africa Series is a fine example of those bright colors contrasting with the moon and the animal silhouettes. Most of her paintings are available in print through and through It is an honor and a privilege that Carol has been invited again to be a featured artist with the Mayo Clinic Galleries in Phoenix Arizona beginning in February 21,2023 to May 23, 2023. Her main goal with her art is to make people smile. "Life needs more joy and a painting should give the viewer joy. A happy painting is my way of giving back to those who view or buy them".
