The ‘Memoirs’ were conceived in early winter of 2012. I spent buckets of paint trying to create the feeling that I wanted, until I finally gave in and the paintings took their final form. Afterwards, I came close to destroying them few times as I didn't believe they were any good. It wasn't until later that I saw them as true reflection of how I felt at the time. Later I was able to see the influence of Clyfford Still (an artist I hugely admire) in these paintings and I became truly fond of them both. They were chosen by Saatchi guest curator to feature in an online collection. Furthermore, Memoirs I was shown as part of the Screen Project at the Saatchi Gallery, London.

Join the FIGHT! https://www.patreon.com/ramisworld I am declaring an all out WAR on the rich class, the CEO class, the military class and all the SCUM whose greed and thirst for power means the rest of us go hungry every single fucking day! Hi. My name is Rami. I’m a Syrian national. I have lived and worked in the UK for a long time. Back in 2009, following the economic crisis and a horrific personal experience at the management consultancy firm that I was working at, I was laid off (mere six months before I was eligible for UK residency!) and I found myself back at home in Syria. Soon after, the war unfolded and I decided to stay and paint (Link to my Saatchi profile below) while normalcy imploded all around me. In 2015, I left Syria to try and find work elsewhere but now I’m back here and the actual war has given way to economic hardship the likes of which I have never thought possible, people around me are starving! I have setup this page in order to pursue a multifaceted project that I have been working on (on and off) for few years now. I now want to focus completely on this project. I recently discovered AI Painting using mobile apps. The results were fascinating. While I worked on painting projects to depict the ugliness of Bezos before, these tools offered by the apps meant that I can realize my vision fairly quickly. Now I aim to take it all the way and develop it into its own niche... Another project I have been working on for a while now is a collection of short stories that cast light on my traumatic experience working as a business consultant in London and as a painter/ activist in wartime Syria. The stories touch on the experiences of living and working in the UK then the Middle East, and the intertwining nature of politics, religion, power and greed that always yield horrific lifelong supply of suffering for millions of people worldwide! I really can't do this work without sponsorship (i.e. my patrons, you!). I hope that I would be able to inspire you to support me on this exciting yet highly controversial- yes Bezos will know about us in due course- BUT also highly creative and fun trip. I will offer many perks to my patrons and I hope you will stick with me and help me say what's on my mind, what needs to be said! The rich see this as a game, yet it is our livelihood.
