I painted this just before Remembrance Sunday, I love poppies, the colours, delicacy and of course the symbolism.
I wanted to capture the fact that poppy petals don't last long, are gossamer thin and are easily swept away. An emotional painting to symbolise our memories and just how delicate they can be.

Gloria Moore was born in the UK, and spent many years living in a diverse number of countries, which proved to be a very enriching experience. This was done long before the advent of the internet and mobile phones so she learnt to rely on her own resources and began to explore creativity in all its forms. Gloria is an Anglo-Swiss artist based in Switzerland. The natural beauty of her daily surroundings offer inspiration in the form of a constantly changing palette of colours, shapes and forms. While her style is, therefore best described as eclectic, her painting is invariably vibrant, lively and positive. When asked about her philosophy of art, her answer is disarmingly simple: 'Ultimately, I paint both because I enjoy the process and in order to produce works that give me a great deal of pleasure. It is my hope that others will see and share that pleasure of creativity.
