Stella Michaels is a contemporary painter born & raised in New York. She has been described as a channel of the past traveling on a highway to the future; a medium between people & paintings. She acquired her BFA from New York University, where she focused on both the visual & performing arts. Ms. Michaels amplified her visual expression, utilising her proficiency in sound & vision to execute her operatic paintings. "Art is a very personal experience. In order to create relevance, we must enhance that tool within us that is capable of creating a timeless, boundless vision, a feel, a sound, a touch that will infuse a reality that already exists with a timeless quality. Working from her studio in New York she began to display her work from a mobile pop-up shop, showing & selling on Madison Ave at the Mark & Carlyle hotel, to the Meatpacking district at the Standard hotel. Ms. Michaels found great success with collectors from all over the world. Best known for her blend of abstract, pop-edge sensibility; coupled with a signature rock 'n roll swagger, she traces the boundaries of spontaneity & precision in equal measure. The paintings embody sound & vision; spontaneous cliff notes to choreographed dances that give life to raw canvas. She is able to achieve exceptional results through mediums that include enamels, metals, acrylic, & paper appliqués, creating a symphony of visual rhythms & sounds that resonate from ambiance to power pop.
