ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Matching Action Painting and Divisionism, the shadows flying over the glittering waves call memory of the waves of humans crossing the seas in search of a better life, too often buried in the water.

Art is the matter mainly matters in my life. Before to learn to read and write, I used to draw on any blank surface I could get, sketching all what my fantasy could drive on, as all children do, but to me was the main occupation, even during the school time, instead of attending to teacher's lessons. At age of 14 I finally reached the goal of admission in the famous Brera Institute of Art in Milan, but I never received any graduation, cause I stopped school in '67, on the wave of students' protesting acts of the times. Then I became kind of an hippie, experiencing countless situations, allways sketching and painting. That's how I developped a good skill in drawing, often making a living out of that. I've been drawing for architects, designers, decorators, restorers, art directors, movie makers and so on, never leaving to make some painting in my side, mainly abstract, until I decided to be a full-time painter, about in 1988. I chosed to paint recognizable shapes to improve my drawing, although I deeply appreciate abstract Art and Action Painting, using also some kind of drippin' at the start of my works. The goal is to take forward the "Divisionista" style, the one that drove to Futurism, in my opinion Art forms too soon abandoned, at advantage of poorer expressions.. Anyway, I respect any choice of any fellow Artist, just my choice is not to drop a traditon starded many thowsand years ago. I never stopped studying and experiencing, I complain to be not trained in sculpture, having done just a little carving and plasting. I'm also practicing dry-point hetchying, and I'm trying woodblock printing japan-way, a challengig discipline.. Maestro Hokusay used to say," if I'll live hundred and ten years, anything I draw will live", so, being I a seasoned boy in my 70is, my hope is to reach such a respectable age to make works approaching the perfection. Recently, I started to develop a faster technic, mixing the color's division with wide chromatic areas and improving dripping and matching colors directly on the work. I also took back wall painting "a fresco", that allow operating in team with other Artists.
