ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I have been obsessed by American Abstract Expressionist artist Franz Kline. By drawing inspiration from him and my mothers geisha series I have built up enough confidence to create this painting and hopefully many more from the series. I generally work with colour so to limit my palette to just Black and White was challenging. To add depth and interest i have combined flat & gloss enamel paint, inkwash and built up texture using moulding paste all this on a luxurious Belgian Linen canvas. If you have the wall space to hang this piece you will not be disappointed.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Born in Adelaide in 1971, my childhood consisted of bohemian treks around Australia with my parents; “The stark light and vivid colours of nature were my initial inspirations.” Still life has been my primary source of inspiration since the age of 9, completing my first oil painting with my mother in her art studio. To see how far and how detailed my paintings have become is the reason why I continue to paint all genres. My longtime passion is represented in each collection of artwork. My art merges the imagination and the traditional. I get inspiration from modern day and the classic painters for their stunning use of lively contrast between a dark background and vibrant color in the forward. To achieve this mix I use the consistency and texture of acrylic. I don't follow any one path. In the beginning I intuitively create my abstract arrangements of light, shape, and color aiming to create something new and vibrant that people can live with and look at with increasing pleasure. I move forward in an unseen order, a rhythm and a surprise.
