This table is part of a series of three paintings form a triptych, reflecting formal evolution from something figurative rather to a set of lines. The 3 tables show the colors of the rainbow (purple-indigo-blue-green-yellow-orange-red) which is the flag of the gay movement. But beyond that, the tables illustrate the diversity and mix of people of all colors to blend in with the clouds.

Consulting architect for 30 years, I have always drawn and painted. I first deepened my drawing experience in a Beaux Arts of Lyon workshop for 10 years and I now devote myself entirely to painting. When people ask me about my work, I usually respond in a slightly provocative way "I do the PSEUDO-FIGURATIVE Committed", which nevertheless corresponds well to part of what I seek to do. My conviction is indeed that if the painting takes shape thanks to the sensitivity of the painter, it must be underpinned, by the look he has on the society in which he lives, and the perception he has of its evolutions. . Even if it may ultimately prove to be eternal, for me it must be anchored in today's world. Beyond the emotion felt, it must be able to have a meaning for the viewer. This is why purely abstract painting, which was an important historical moment, if it aims only at formal games, colors and matter, seems to me personally today a little limited in its potential of expression and of interpellation. My paintings are therefore not abstractions. They do not aim at precise realism either. The figuration must simply be sufficient to support the meaning. They are a simplified representation and an interpretation of reality. They tell one (or more) story (s). It is in this spirit that I created the exhibition "Les Temps Modernes" at the Galerie l'œil listening in 2017, with 24 paintings on today's issues: communication, solitude, new technologies, diversity, terrorism, war, environment, ecology, family, universe, fashion, painting ... (and some re-interpretations of famous paintings revisited). I have since been greatly disturbed by Covid 19, which has been a source of inspiration for me. I share my time between Lyon and Tangier, where I find a part of my inspiration.
