ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I visited New York for the first time in 2013 and took many photos of the famous places and buildings that make NYC famous. Some photos were developed and compiled in an album, others remained on the hard drive of my laptop. The act of leaving a photographic image in digital form and its relation to memory is the inspiration for this painting, and others in the Mnemosyne series.
