Zinna Yoo is a Seoul-based artist whose work bridges figuration and abstraction to explore memory, time, and the delicate presence of emotion. Since her first solo exhibition in 2014, she has developed a distinct visual language that merges still life, symbolic minimalism, and conceptual layering across multiple series. Her figurative works—including Beyond, Modern Moonlight, and Modern Times—portray symbolic objects such as fruits and flowers, reflecting themes of transience, presence, and the quiet traces of life. Her abstract series Querencia visualizes inner sanctuary and emotional landscapes through rhythmic lines, layering, and color fields. Across all her works, Zinna Yoo creates visual meditations on the moment between appearance and disappearance. Her paintings often replace realistic shadows with minimal traces, suggesting a space beyond time—a fleeting eternity. Using subtle color gradations, texture, and restrained composition, Yoo invites viewers into a state of contemplation, where objects are more than physical—they are memories, emotions, and echoes of life. Her work has been shown in exhibitions and art fairs across Seoul, Hong Kong, Taipei, and the United States. Yoo continues to deepen her inquiry into how painting can hold the residue of lived time, and how stillness can express the profound beauty of impermanence.
