'Modernism in New York City' is a portrait of the 70s in a modern key. Main focus goes to 'Etcetera' chair by Jan Ekselius at the bottom right, and to the coffee table from Alberto Pinto's collection in the centre. I fell particularly in love with the last one having such contrasting colors, the black and mustard. Similar to my previous work 'Ocean Rug', I added a blue rug to break the warm tones - given by the yellows and oranges - to match the 'Atollo' table lamp by Magistretti. I could not imagine a better window view than the classic NYC.

The painting is not framed since I prefer leaving that as a buyer's choice.

Thais Palma Bottiglieri is an Italian and Portuguese contemporary visual artist. Currently lives and works in Ireland after a long life of traveling around the world with the wish of finding what she would identify as Home. Art was always her only constant. An only friend. Initially inspired by her mother's passion for decor and design, Thais started her career painting mainly interiors. Four walls that kept her safe, comforted and loved when the outside world would often create a sense of disappointment. Eventually those walls had to be broken as she was expected to explore more than a mere love for beautiful pieces of design. Today her artistic process involves the portrait of her human feelings, dreams, fears, visions, moments witnessed. Most of them perhaps relatable to others. It is autobiographical. Moments lived and still to be lived. Past, present and future.
