About The Artwork
This study in colour over colour, and within Fibonacci dimensions, was painted as a meditative space for people to feel cool and calm, and enjoy the pleasing dimensions. It is playful as well, with the red streak demanding attention and even leaking out in one corner! I am greatly influenced by both Rothko and Hodgkin (surprise, surprise!) and as always striving to create juxtapositions of colour to provoke deeper, sub conscious emotions.

She was born in 1959, in Cape Town, as her father was posted there while serving in the navy. As a child She also lived in Washington DC which she adored. Rachel set up and ran The Great Art expedition in the royal Parks, London. She is now also a visiting tutor, working for art groups, arts centres, and individuals.
