ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is inspired by the importance of the monsoon season in the desert, and waters journey through the dry environment. It is a struggle we can relate to, one of taking advantage of chances, rare moments in our lives that make us flourish, like the monsoon yearly on the dry desert.

Leanne C. Miller was born in Phoenix AZ. Miller relocated to California to attend San Francisco Art Institute, graduating from there in 2005. She resided in San Francisco until 2012, making and showing her work in California and New York. She also curated shows at various establishments and joined the San Pancho Art Collective, S.P.A.C., which opened the Incline Gallery, SF in 2010. Leanne was commissioned by many organizations to create murals all over San Francisco. She decided to leave her adopted home and return to the desert to work toward an MFA at the University of Arizona, Tucson, receiving her degree in May 2015.
