About The Artwork
This minimalist work is a return to black and white in my work. It is a geometric abstraction and I was interested in the use of forms, the balance of the composition and look for the simplest with the absence of color, but working the canvas and the contrast with the use of acrylic and pigments mixed with the casein glue on the cotton duck canvas.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
