Painted outdoors in the woods over a period of more than 12 month "Moor's Edge" is a co-production of myself as an artist, my surrounding nature, a regional forest—rain and wind, algae and moss, animals and insects—and time. So special, so exhausting, I probably won't be able to do so again. To me, the panel is a new strand of my artistic research towards an artistic way of gaining experience and knowledge about fields usually associated with science. There are 2 more works of the künstlernatur-project uploaded here at Saatchi's. See https://www.saatchiart.com/art/Painting-Irruption-of-a-Galaxy-at-Woodland-s-Edge/777303/6337995/view , https://www.saatchiart.com/art/Painting-Guardian-Angel-Landing-in-Anthropocene/777303/4546957/view , and https://www.saatchiart.com/art/Painting-Innerwald/777303/6484887/view . What able is art to contribute to the necessity of finding a balance between humanity and its violated living environment? The strong presence of the artwork results from an artistic process in and with nature— and against it, too. The works support is medium density fiberboard (MDF) exposed to the open for 12 month, by it is this heavy—and heavily treated by nature, warped, rims pulped broke. It is treated properly to be sold and presented indoors—backside sanded and a throw of light grey gesso put on, front varnished. There is some information about the work's process at https://malenimbestandsite.wordpress.com/ and a short film at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLKvK5FOi3U .

Christian Kabuß is an internationally established German artist and musician. He studied Medicine at the University of Rostock, then went on to Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee, Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia and Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design Budapest to practice Fine Art. The artistic language within his paintings is deeply linked to a phenomenological approach to bodiliness, the freedom of subconscious artistic creation, and the theoretical and practical considerations of Design. Kabuß has exhibited in Germany and abroad. His works are present in regional, national and international collections. It is his aim to work as honest as possible, and he tends towards imagery, which is embedded in Lebenswelt, and sound. As a pianist, he performs small intimate concerts. His music is soft, sometimes freely improvised and portrays a sense of a parallel-world. Exhibitions in Italy, Sweden, Germany, China, and Japan.
