I am inspired by natural forms and the incongruities of permanence and ephemerality in both fibers and the natural world. Work in the Carbon series evokes moments frozen in time, preserved in a way that feels at once artificial and intrinsic.

Fabric is molding using traditional smocking techniques and stiffeners before being mounted on wood panel. The stiffened fabric is then coated in graphite and buffed to a subtle shine.
