A global artist based in the vibrant heritage city of Ahmedabad in Western India. I was born and brought up in Mumbai where I studied Humanities and Law. I was interested in art since school and was very good at it. Though not formally trained at any Fine Art institute, I started oil painting on canvas out of interest. I used to read up on techniques and try by myself. So in a way I am a Self-Taught artist. and managed to paint on and off. When I close my eyes I see bright colors. There is light as I move towards it. There are threads of thoughts and then when I concentrate harder, there is no thought, no memory for a while. I feel I have been lifted up in air and can see myself below. There is a flash of bright colours around me. I pick up these colours and pictures and place them on my canvas. My surroundings, nature.. everything inspire me. When I started putting shapes and shades on canvas, what turned out was cubes in various shapes and size. I had no idea that this form of art has been there for more then a hundred years is called “Cubism”. Cubism was first started by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque in 1907. There is nature, music, love, family, school, my life pouring out on the canvas. Each line, each shade of color fits in the whole pattern that is created and fits in each cube! It is complex yet simple. It is beautiful. It is relaxing. This is my journey. I am enjoying the process. I am inspired by lot of artists but prefer to have my own style, be original.
